Tasting Notes - Linda Domas Vis a Vis Viognier Chardonnay
Big lifted ripe apricot fruit wafts up from the glass together with oily, powerful honeysuckle. A great example of how Viognier is by far the easiest varietal to place purely off the bouquet. Flavours don't do the aromas justice; mineral, chalk, citrus, musk combine in a confushed fashion, and as a result the wine appears rudderless. Perhaps the chardonnay is getting in the way? Finishes dry. Really quite hard to assess but nevertheless not impressive.
