Tasting Notes - Mount Burrumboot Estate Sangiovese 2005

Dark garnet red in colour, lifted aromas of sweet berry fruit. The palate is delicious with ripe summer berries and liquorice, a soft mouth feel makes it very easy drinking with a long, luscious finish. The wine has repeatedly done well at our tastings. My only slight reservation would be that I'm not sure how well it reflects the varietal character of a Sangiovese - as with most reds from Heathcote it is a BIG wine full of fruit. Still, if you are looking for a red to please many different palates - this is for you.
