Tasting Notes - Larnoo Estate Merlot 2006

This cool climate Merlot is from Yea. A purple hue to the wine with black current and liquorice on the nose. A light to medium style of Merlot with black cherry fruit at the front of the palate. A twiggy, stalky mid palate and plenty of chalky tannin on the finish. At present the weight of the wine was overpowered by the tannin and my teeth were not happy after tasting it! Perhaps it will improve with time.
