Tasting Notes - Brini Estate Ltd Release Sebastian Shiraz 2004 (Recommended)

Brini's brand bew super premium release (and the best Brini we've ever tasted).

Blood red in the glass, perhaps not the purple hues I was expecting. Subdued nose; oak aromas (a fraction toasty), with generic red fruits. Palate shows a fair bit of quality with tightly packed berry fruits with hints of sweetness. Fruit appears to have largely swalloed the oak at this stage, which, in itself, is quite impressive. Nice gamey note underpins the flavours. Very balanced with some tannin on the finish giving confidence of at least medium term cellaring. A slight alcohol burn on the finish.

One of the best reds I've had in the past 18 months.
