Tasting Notes - Loan Raven's Rose 2006

Another newbie label, at least to me. Made by Tanunda Creek Vineyards and made from bio certified Alicante Bouchet grapes; should be interesting.

Pure dark pink in colour or perhaps raspberry. Balanced nose with a obvious layer of grapy sweetness and raspberry confectionary. Has depth. Less friendly to taste as the perfumed fruits prove evasive. In fact the wine tends towards a dry style of rose, somewhat removed from the expectations driven by the aromas. Generic red fruits poke through late (too late) but the wine can't help be bland.
