Tasting Notes - Mount Burrumboot Estate Marsanne / Viognier 2006 (Recommended)
This is a 50 / 50 blend of the varieties from this northern Heathcote winery. Impressive golden colour, with a deeply perfumed aroma of musk. Weighty in the mouth for an unoaked white wine. Concentrated flavours of tinned pears and apricot. This wine drinks like a well made Viognier but the Marsanne gives it a creamy texture rather than an oily, viscous texture usually associated with Viognier. An interesting white wine that red wine drinkers might enjoy.
