Tasting Note - Cape Barren Native Goose Shiraz 2005

This label must be a second label job for Cape Barren given the grape source is simply stated as 'grapes sourced from around McLaren Vale'. Light purple in the glass with some lightening to a strawberry colour at the edges. Ripe nose of plums and spice; not distinguished in anyway. A bit rough and simple to taste; bright red berry fruits quickly get drowned out with a dash of heat, spice and some slightly abrasive acid. Some ok sweet fruits linger on the finish but otherwise not heaps of appeal. About $20.
