A negociant label for Nelsons, a Melbourne-based wine wholesaler with a pretty decent portfolio. This particlar drop is sourced from Coonawarra, and probably comes from Penley Estate. Happy to stand corrected however.
Anyway, quite a simple drop yet varietal. Soft leafy fruits and a touch of sweet oak on the nose; very attractive. Palate is plush early, very early, but a lick of spice and zingy acid firms things up quick smart, perhaps to the detriment of the wine as it gets a touch hard. However there's no denying that a core of friendly berry and leafy fruits keeps the wine interesting. Couldn't really recommend at the official retail (say $17) but would look very good at $12 - $13.
