Tasting Notes - Five Sons Estate Shiraz 2004 (Recommended)

Bright garnet red colour with an intriguing nose of savoury, meaty notes with an underlying maritime character. The palate was in total contrast with lots of juicy plum and red current fruit and creamy vanilla, a noticeably soft texture made for a very easy drinking Shiraz. However I was amazed by the length of the wine. It went on and on and I could taste the juicy fruit for some time afterwards. I really liked this wine despite the lack of white pepper character I tend to look for in cool climate Shiraz.
