Tasting Note - Amhurst Chardonnay 2006
Deep, golden colour. pronounced aromas of butter and toasty oak. Initially quite sweet, peachy fruit on the palate which gives way to a slightly savoury 'meaty' finish. Very soft, creamy, texture with noticeable but at first not over bearing oak. However after a few more tastes the oak starts to really get in the way and doesn't seem to be integrated into the wine. It isn't something I would drink, too rich and too much oak. This is an old fashioned style of Chardonnay, that little old ladies might like!
