Icely Road Pinot Noir 2006 (Orange)
Not much happening; simple cherry flavours, dulled fruit overtones, really hard to get excited here.
Lake George Pinot Noir 2006 (Canberra)
Confectionary fruit, just too simple. Utterly forgettable.
Lake George Merlot 2006 (Canberra)
Sweet, boring, a fraction spirity and hot. Tightens on the finish.
Tim Smith GSM 2006 (Barossa Valley)
Controlled nose with grenache fruits. Soft palate, some bitter fruits, varietal with a strong prune character. Works ok but not in the league of the 2004 and 2005. Notwithstanding, quite a solid wine.
Galli Estate Tempranillo Grenache Mourvedre 2006
A classic 'bitsa' wine. GSM-like with its primary fruit impact (sweet berries and prunes) and even shows a touch of complexity, perhaps from the temp?
