Second installment from the Growers 2004 WA chardonnay series.
Basic build and flavours are not far removed from the Pemberton but the oak shows much better integration right through the palate. Crisp grapefruit on the nose as well as a hint of soft vanilla oak. Flavours are similar, some nice grapey tang creeps in, before the fruits broaden nicely in the back palate. The wine is more about structure than outright fruit flavours, and it really is quite smartly done in this respect. I like it.
