Appelation: Montepulciano D'Abruzzo
Tried this about about a year ago and thought it was looking quite good in a secondary flavour phase kind of way. This sample didn't show so well unfortunately. The robust tannin structure remains (grainy, savoury, good length) but the fruits are definately starting to 'brown' off and fade. Flavours are certaintly on the stinky, mushroom, savoury side. Drink soon. The 2001 is a better bet right now.
