Tasting Notes - Semprevino Nebbiolo 2005 (Recommended)

Another sample bottle, another new label. It's amazing how many new producers are still trying to enter the market. Neb might be finding a natural home in the Adelaide Hills and this is another quite solid example. Clearly 'new world' in style with plenty of ripe red berry fruits across both the nose and palate. Nose also shows a nice earthy licorice note. Palate flavours start out in a simple fashion, and quite ripe, but some nice varietal complexity builds with a very attractive combination of pongy red fruits and a drying, tannic, leathery structure. Has very good length. A fairly serious wine.
