Tasting Notes - The Wanderer Shiraz 2006 (Recommended)

How good is this wine?

Ripe Yarra Valley shiraz that nimbly threads the fine line b/w cool climate and super friendly ripe shiraz. Medium blood red in colour, looks about right for the region. Nose is lively, zingy, with some nice minerally lift along with sweet generic red berries. Flavours are ripe, but not overly so, and the fruit positively dances across the tongue. More plush sweet berry fruit drives the palate early before some mild tannin and aniseed kick in late. A safe buy at ~$32.
